Gitti Richardson was born 1956 in Frankfurt/Main (Germany) where she still lives today. She’s educated as an Industrial Manager.
Frankfurt is the biggest financial metropolis in continental Europe and ones of Europe’s’ most important cultural cities. The city is located by the river Main.
Its history goes far back. It former was a free imperial city, the city where German-Roman empires were elected and crowned. The world most important book fair was found in Frankfurt around 1150. The city combines historical and modern architecture which challenges Gitti Richardson as a photographer.
Gitti Richardson works with digital photography and has attempted several workshops. She’s a member of Photography Forum Frankfurt (Germany).
She has always worked with photography. She got her first camera at the age of nine and her first reflex camera at the age of 22.
It’s the LIGHT that fascinates her the most. The bright light of the Mediterranean as much as the sallow light on a winter day in Scotland. She loves the ocean, the sky, clouds, light and shadow, reflections. She dreams of a life at the seaside, a dream not fulfilled but still living.
She also likes modern architecture and she captures it from interesting angles in an abstract way. She works with the contrasts of old and new. She’s always looking for uncommon subject.
To work with photography is an important part of her life. It’s like a drive to go out with the camera. She values authenticity more than perfection. Her photos in general are raw. She wants to show the image as she sees it herself.
