The newspapers Bergens Tidene and Fædrelandsvennen published an article about a family that was returned to Yemen. It’s called “Shaimaas vei ut av Norge”. Unfortunately the article is now only available for those who subscribe so I can’t link directly to it.
The journalist, Frøy Gudbrandsen and the photographer Håvard Bjelland followed the family from when they were picked up, and were transported out of Norway. They only were allowed to follow them to Amman.
For those who decide to subscribe the article: it’s not a happy story with a happy ending. This is a reality going on in Norway and all the other European countries. I’m glad the journalist gave this girls and her family a voice… .
Unfortunately there are many, many cases like this families in Norway.
Even it’s no happy ending in that article I think it’s important to spread tell about it, get this out into the world and let people know what happens in Norway. It’s very well written and
I know it’s going on in many other countries too, and yes I know there are countries even tougher than Norway, BUT I live in Norway and I don’t agree in this. I feel it’s become much more difficult for foreigners in Norway. I’ve lived here for 20 years, and I don’t like where we are headed. Norway is a rich country, with lost of space and they need people how can work. They still make it very difficult for very many people from foreign countries to get to work here.
And its become much harder to get to stay in Norway if you are a refugee. Many refugee children have been sent out of Norway. Children who have lived here all or the main part of their lives. They have to leave with their families because of several reasons like that the parents have lied about their identity, or they have come to an other European countries before they came to Norway. But that’s not the children fault, and the children’s got rights, too. But still it seems that the best of the children often is put by side…
