Beautiful song for a good case….
So…. this was this weekend with great people at the yoga teacher education. Now I’m preparing for hospital tomorrow… Tomorrow morning I may get some answers, and hopefully things will fall in place…
Gonna go to bed early to get a good night sleep. Guess that’s a really good idea since I have to take a bus at half past 7 am. Gonna pack a bag with yoga books and take a good and hot shower before I go to bed. I’m not allowed to eat tomorrow morning, no coffee either so I guess I should take the breathing book with me (and if the only thing I do is to hit someone because of the no morning coffee it still be in good use 😛 )
Looking really forward to start a gluten-free life from tomorrow. Have been walking around like a zombie for month and to get up each morning feeling drunk without have to be close to any alcohol is frustrating… It’s not funny to feel you have to go to back to bed again and like the room is moving like you’re on a ship on open sea ain’t funny either….
But its count down now… Only some hours left to hang in… . I know I can do that….
So… what can be todays words of wisdom?
“Now is the time to rise.” – Unknown
December, 25th… . First Christmas Day… . I relaxed after dinner with a friend last night and after unwrapping all the great gifts I got from my friends. I spend some time to send them messages to thank them and went to bed around 2 am… I woke up to the most beautiful wheater – sun on a blue sky 🙂
It was quite cold today and I went for a walk in the forest. It was really relaxing and I enjoy it a lot…. Having hot milk with honey when I come back home wasn’t to bad either…
Ready books for the rest of today. Have a great night everyone….
Todays words of wisdom…
“Let us love winter, for it is the spring of genius.”
Todays words of wisdom…. Wishing you all a Merry Christmas 🙂
“Gifts of time and love are surely the basic ingredients of a truly merry Christmas.” Peg Bracken
Merry Christmas to everyone
May Christmas be a good Christmas for all of you
May Christmas be a time to be with beloved people
May Christmas be a time to taking a breath and get your shoulders done
May Christmas be a time to honour the memory of loved ones who passed away
May Christmas be a time for all those who are lonely, sick and frightened in this world to met a fellow human who reaches out his hands
May Christmas be a time for all who are on the run to find a save place
May Christmas be a time to brace our energy to face the New Year with all its possibilities and challenges
It’s the day before THE DAY…. Having busy at work and home today, but hey! It’s day 77 of the words of wisdom challenge and on days like this I start to believe I might be able to pull this through for 365 days…
Preparing for tomorrow when a friend is coming for dinner 🙂
Todays words of wisdom:
“Christmas is a necessity. there has to be at least one day of the year to remind us that we’re here for something else besides ourselves.”
So…. December, 22nd… Not many hours to Christmas Eve. Not too much to do at work either and I had some nice talks with the kids during the day… They went like this with a bunch of five to three years old kids:
Girl (4): “Anny, do you have a little girl at home?” – “No, I don’t have a little girl at home”
Girl (4): “Do you have a boy at home?” – “No.”
Boy (4): “Do you have a man at home.” – “No, I don’t have a man at home neither.”
An other girl: “Are you all on your own?” – “Yes, you could say that.”
Boy (4): “But who’s making you dinner?” – “Well, I do.”
Boy (3): “I’ll come and visit you at home!”
Boy (4): “Yeah, me to!”
Girl: “We can all come! Then you’re really not alone anymore!”
You just have to love them 🙂 ❤
What could be todays words of wisdom, after I placed a Christmas tree in my living room to decorate it tomorrow? It makes my flat smell like a forest… Usually I don’t have a tree, but since I’ll have a guest for Christmas Eve I thought it would be nice to have one this year. Actually it’s the first time I’m having a tree after I moved into this appartement back in 2008.
Well…. I choose these…
“Winter is the time for comfort, for good food and warmth, for the touch of a friendly hand and for a talk beside the fire: it is the time for home.”
– Edith Sitwell
Have a great evening!
The words of wisdom challenge has reached 70 days… Here’s a look back on day 57 to day 70….
“Oh soul, you worry too much. Your arms are heavy with treasures of all kinds.”
“You only need smell the wine for vision to flame from each void – such flames from wine’s aroma! Imagine if you were the wine.” Rumi
“A bird doesn’t sing because it has an answer. It sings because it has a song.”
“Ask me not what I have, but what I am.”
“Be happy for this moment. This moment is your life”
Day 70 of the 365 days with words of wisdom. I choose these today.
Soon it’ll be Christmas Eve and I’m still at home from work because of the infection I catched, but have plans to be back at work on Thursday.
Being at home also means I’ve got a lot of opportunity to watch morning tv shows and news. Right now everything in the morning tv shows is about how to celebrate Christmas. How to get the food right, how to decorate, what to wear this year, what to give as presents, how to wrap the presents right and fashionable, which music to listen to… .
And yes. Christmas can be fine, and decorations are fine, and thinking about who to give presents to is fine… BUT I often think that all these things give people expectations that might be hard to fulfill. Not everyone has a family to celebrate Christmas with. Not everyone can financially afford all these “to do, to have” things. Not everyone has happy memories of Christmas, and there actually are many who don’t look forward to Christmas because of different reasons. And don’t forget that there are many who don’t have a Christian background so they don’t celebrate it because it’s not their religious believe and tradition.
I don’t think we should stop celebrating Christmas. Don’t misunderstand me. In the world today, with wars and conflicts, terrorism, starvation and sickness we need to celebrate love, understanding and human rights.
The thing is just that we in the so-called “Western World” have a great focus on the material part of Christmas celebration. We try to achieve a certain “picture” of Christmas, and not everyone can actually afford that, ending up taking up loans and buying on credit cards. I personally don’t think it’s a healthy thing to do.
I could go on and on, but stop here for today…
Have a great day everyone!
Sunday night. So this was this weekend. Now there’s a break from lectures until the end of January. But it doesn’t mean I won’t have any yoga stuff to do. Nope… Have a lot of reading and practise to do.
I got my Sanskrit test back today – and no – I don’t need to do it all over again. Got one mistake and that was a stupid one…. So it itches a bit…. But I’m happy!!! 😀
It’s been a good weekend. Great people to spend it with, and it’s cosy to have lunch together and get to talk about different things. Great group with lot of different experiences…
I came home after I bought some present and found some Christmas decorations so now I’m ready 😉
Never do a lot but got some stars in my windows, an angel and some small dwarfs and a reindeer. I bought two small flower bulbs which are growing in two small silver pots. Tomorrow I’ll post some Christmas cards and small parcels, and the last thing I gonna do is to buy a small poinsettia. That’s all for my Christmas decorations…
Now I gonna have some tea and prepare for the next week at work. Just have to give you today words of wisdom… Guess this fits since I’m very happy for that the Sanskrit test went that good 🙂
“Be happy for this moment. This moment is your life”
Halfway through Sunday. Learning is going slow since I just had a relapse with my cold 😦
Irritating…. I’m not sure if it’s something I did catch at work, my immunes systemes illness or a combination of both. Trying not to stress out about it. “Only” around 20 names of asanas left to learn by Saturday…. Having a big cup of the before I gonna hit the mat and go into the positions I haven’t learned yet…. That worked last time.
Yesterday has been a good day, instructing a friend in yoga, having coffee with another friend, seeing an exhibition and find 2 hours to work at a painting, before returning home to read.
Today so far I’ve got several messages of people who wish me a nice first advent. Doesn’t look a lot of Christmas here yet since there’s yoga stuff everywhere. But I’ve been thinking a bit about the meaning of advent. I’m not personally Christian even if I grow up with it as my religion. I found out at one point of my life that being an active religious person is not for me. I’m not comfortable with doing ceremonies, showing up at certain dates, following traditions. I got stressed out, frustrated and aggressive by it. After turning my back on that kind of life, I’m a much more relaxed, much more balanced. But that’s me. I know many people who find their balance, who relax being religious and doing the ceremonies and traditions and are happy totally independing on which religion they’ve got.
Christmas food, decorations, presents and more have been around for some weeks now. So now as we start this last weeks until Christmas Eve, with the shopping stress a lot of going in to, I like to turn my focus more on finding peace and time to relax, and thinking about what advent and Christmas basically meant.
Todays the first Sunday of Advent is the first day of the Western Christian churches liturgical year. There are differences in the churches like as an example that the Swedish church has white as the liturgical colour while the Lutheran, Roman Catholic and Anglican churches have violet or blue.
Today it’s 4 Sundays until Christmas Eve. It’s a time of waiting and preparing for Christmas, the day Jesus was born. the Latin word for Advent is adventus and it‘s means coming.
Traditions are lighting an advent wreath, having a advent calendar, Christmas decorations and songs.
I actually enjoy the Christmas songs and decorations. I always light a lot of candles during autumn and winter season since I think it’s cozy when it gets dark early so I don’t have the biggest focus on that.
It would be fun to hear about your favourite tradition 🙂
So what can be words of wisdom on this Sunday? From Nest eggs by Kate Knapp 🙂
“The only thing that really matters is love and more love.”
