There some things I just need to be balanced in life – yoga, working at the studio and walking in the forest.
I managed to walk in the forest the first day of Christmas. It has been very cold here lately. And I’ve been well enough to go back to the yoga matt and some more positions than the relaxing ones…
Last weekend I made time to be at the studio and I enjoyed it a lot, even if I have been quite tired lately. Guess the myco plasma infection left some imprint, and it’ll take some time to get rid off it all.
I’ve been working on a new drawing for the “After work is realtiy”-project. And I enjoyed doing it. It’s still in the beginning and a lot still has to be done. But I feel I’m on the right way to with it and I’m happy to have made time to start on a new image. It’ll be part of the “concert-series”. Since I sold the first to drawings and thought it would be good to have one more. I’m working on coloured ingress paper with charcoal pencils, this time black coloured ones. It’s not easy to see on this picture but the paper is yellow coloured and it gives an interesting contrast to the black charcoal.
Tomorrow I’ll be back at the studio to get some more work done…

The latest update on the next exhibition is that the paintings were shipped today. Now it’s out of my hands and in the hands of the shipping company. Hopefully they’ll arrive safely and in time in New York and at the Limner Gallery.
A bit sad to have the leave the third one behind but I only could enter two of them. Well… You never know if you sell a piece in an exhibition so they could be reunited one day….
So if anyone is in the New York area and wants to see the original pieces, let me know. I gonna send you the details 🙂 ❤
Well… It’s strange to think one more year at the studio has gone. I managed to do some pieces, like the three drawings to the “The price of beauty”, two drawings to “After work there is reality”, finishing the paintings “From Iceland I” and “From Iceland II” and “There lays a shadow, there lays a ball” from the Jan Erik Wolds subject and I’ve done some sketches. I started some new drawings and paintings waiting for me to finish them in 2015.
The painting “From Iceland I” was awarded with the bronzemedale for painting at the Art Expo International exhibition in Casa do Paca, Fiqueira da Foz, Portugal
Several of us at the studios in Dælenggata worked together to be part of the Oslo Open event 2014 and it went really well 🙂 Lots of visitors and a newspaper report about it.
I feel I can be proud about what I’ve achieved there this year. Of course I wished I would have been able to do some more pieces this year. I guess no matter how many days I spend at the studio I always gonna have the feeling I should have done more.
Don’t think it has been a bad year at the studio, but I hope I’ll be able to spend more time there next year. Right now the yoga education takes a lot of time and space in my head, but it might result in the opportunity to spend more time at the studio later. keeping my fingers crossed…
I’ve also been lucky to exhibited in several cities in Europe. Actually I’m quite happy with this years exhibitions. These were the 2014 exhibitions:
Well guys… This was a “short” look at the studio year 2014.
Wish you all some creative last days of 2014 😀 ❤
Finally I’m “back on track” after two weeks without any time to work at the studio. To many things that needed my attention at home, but as a friend said “It’s now actually looks like a flat!!!”
Well… . Just let us say my flat has been a “work in progress” since I moved in 2008…. 😉
I had to spent some time with some boring stuff first today aka buying a new tv. My male friends gonna be so happy when they see it. They’ve cried over my tiny tv from 80-ties for years. Guess they will like the new 46 tommer led tv… . Last item on board guys! Can I now please leave home and stay at my studio like kind of forever !?! You can get the keys to my flat with the new sofa and the tv and watch the game. Just bring your own beer and take the trash out when you leave… .
I’ve got more important things on my mind…. Like working at my artwork…
I’m still working at the fifth drawing from the “After work there is reality” and slowly getting all details in place.
I got into a great flow after a short break with the movie “everybody has a plan” with Viggo Mortensen. The “Film fra Sør” Festival just has a great program this year 🙂
Really enjoyed to see that guy again. Even if it just was in a movie…. Really about time to take your paintings and photos out and to do an exhibition again Mr. Mortensen!!! Roskilde was five years ago… Just saying…
I’m sure some thousand ladies happily will kill me if I say this – and they ever get the change – I still prefer the photographer and poet…. 😀 😀 😀
Anyway. The movie did put me into a good mood and I’ve drawn for hours… . Happy, happy, happy. 🙂
But now it’s time to pack up, but just so I can be back in a couple of hours.
Enjoy the weekend everyone!

It’s Saturday night. I’m at the studio. Just decided I’m done with the latest drawing of the subject dedicated to all the great artistic people I know.
Those people who life with and for their art no matter how hard it sometimes is to get things go around. All those great spirits who work day and night to earn enough to pay their bills, and still not give up on being creatives. Those people who can’t imagine life without playing their instrument, creating a imagine on an empty canvas, writing a poem or taking on a costume to do a play – even if they know that when they finished the song, the painting, the play there hardly will be enough money to cover the costs.
Those people who even when things get difficult embrace life and celebrate like they just have found the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow….
The images above is just one of a serial and it’s dedicated to all musicians no matter what instrument they play….
I’m taking it down now… Starting on a new one later tonight.
Enjoy your weekend 🙂

I’m spending the weekend at the studio. Or better I’m spending most of the weekend at the studio. One of the best places in the world for me to be.
I’m just starting to work at the “After the concert” subject again after a long vacation. I enjoy being here, slowly creating the image with details composed from several photos and sketches. Listening to the same cd over and over again. I’m here in my own little universe with my rules, my rhythms, my thoughts. This strange feeling of intense inner calmness which is hard to explain.
This state of mind where creativity just flows. The world outside doesn’t really exist. It’s only a kind of background noise. Nothing out there really matters right now.
It’s only me and the paper and the charcoal and the music. I’m in a flow. The image is creating itself. My hand holding the charcoal is just an instrument. Where does it come from, where will it end?
I always have an idea before I start the drawing, researching my photos, doing sketches. Finding details and moods, creating a sketch of where I want to go, how it gonna look like. It of course always turns out to be different from I first had in mind. That’s part of the creative progress. Working forward and take steps back. New ideas are born while I’m drawing. Light and shadow, small details… Things just fall into place.
Now it’s Sunday night and I had to put the charcoal away. I’m happy with this weeks progress. Gonna be back to the studio again on Friday night. And I’m looking forward to it.
Wish you all a really good and creative week. 🙂
